The Graduate School Life Science Munich (LSM) offers an international doctoral program for motivated and academically qualified next-generation researchers at one of Europe’s top Universities – the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich.

With a Ph.D. in Molecular Bioscience, individuals gain a comprehensive understanding of biology at the molecular and cellular levels, opening avenues to various professional endeavors. A novel and innovative Ph.D. program for students from temperate countries with skills in agriculture and agri-food chains searching for tropical regions contextualization and for students from tropical countries who seek to confront their contextualized competencies with exposure to new technical and scientific knowledge, through an international training experience.

Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Informatics. McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston, formerly UTHealth Houston School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) offers a full time a doctoral program in Biomedical Informatics that is designed to be inherently trans-disciplinary and integrative. Involving students with a variety of backgrounds, the program emphasizes fundamental informatics concepts that can apply to all health disciplines. The program is only offered on a full-time and on-campus basis. Students usually take five years to complete this 93-semester credit hours program.

The PhD in Food Safety and Biotechnology School of Biological Sciences provides PhD and MPhil (research degree) programmes in subjects ranging from basic biochemistry, molecular genetics and cancer research, to agricultural science, marine ecology and the economic evaluation of ecosystem services and food retailing. This program has a proven track record of providing students with educational and research training and experiences that integrate the sciences of biology and medicine with the practices and principles of engineering. The international doctoral program in “Agriculture and Environment for Development” provides students with advanced methodological tools for both basic and applied research. It is an inter-university program, taught by specialists from different disciplines, who have extensive and recognized research activity. The study of biosystems engineering merges engineering and agricultural science to improve quality of life while maintaining the environment and preserving natural resources.The focus of biosystems engineering is to enhance the production and profitability of agricultural and biological products.

How did such an amazing variety of living things evolve on Earth? What makes these bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals? How do living things differ from non-living things?
