This doctoral program is part of the University without Borders (UNISF) project financed by the INTERREG VA Spain-Portugal Cross-Border Program (POCTEP). It is a doctoral program in which the Universities of Galicia and the North of Portugal participate (University of Santiago de Compostela, University of Vigo, University of A Coruña, University of Porto, University of Minho, University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro). The degree aims to provide a broad and solid training in Mathematics, as it contains a wide range of research topics that cover many relevant areas of mathematics, as well as its applications to Physics, Biology, Medicine, Computing, Ecology, Biotechnology, Economics , ... It is intended that the doctoral student acquires research, transfer and modeling skills in the aforementioned areas.

Ideal Students
Recipients of the Doctorate in Mathematics and Applications must hold a master's degree in the domains of Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science; or, alternatively, holders of a master's degree in related areas with a curriculum that demonstrates adequate preparation, subject to approval by the Program's academic committee.
