Introduction

Ajman University: Making Things Happen Since 1988

Established in 1988 as the inaugural private university in the GCC, Ajman University (AU) has been pioneering education in the UAE. AU is recognized for its quality education, being one of the first six institutions worldwide to receive accreditation from the UK's Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). It also stands out as the first private, non-profit university in the Arab region to be accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), endorsed by the US Department of Education.

AU stands proudly as a global academic powerhouse, ranked #551 in the world, and recognized as one of the top 5 universities in the UAE, according to the esteemed 2024 QS World University Rankings. This accolade places us among the top 1.75% of institutions worldwide.

AU holds the 3rd position globally for international students and the 8th position for faculty members worldwide, a testament to our international appeal. Our strategic collaborations with leading organizations locally, regionally, and globally have propelled us to the 279th position in Employer Reputation worldwide.

AU offers 37 programs accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education, including 24 undergraduate and 13 graduate programs, with 2 doctoral degrees, across 9 colleges. AU's faculty are leaders in their fields, contributing to the university's growing research reputation. This has led to international accreditation for six AU programs recently.

Campus Features

J1 Building

The 20-000-square-meter J1 Building is a three-story, U-shaped building with 25 lecture halls, 23 laboratories, and 132 faculty offices. J1 is home to the colleges of Pharmacy, Health Sciences, and Dentistry. The teaching and consulting dental clinics offer a dedicated lobby and entrance for outpatients. Also on-site are a medical clinic, cafeterias, a convenience store, a photocopy centre, and prayer rooms.

J2 Building

With more than 35,000 square meters, J2’s u-shaped structure features a three-story atrium and glass walls to inspire creative thinking. J2 is home to the colleges of Business Administration; Engineering; Information Technology; and Mass Communication & Humanities. There are 56 lecture halls, 56 laboratories, and 204 faculty offices.

Sports Complex

Ajman University boasts a modern sports complex which includes an indoor 25-meter swimming pool, a multi-sports hall, two fitness centres and locker rooms, as well as billiard, table-tennis, and chess areas. The sports complex also includes outdoor playing fields for volleyball, basketball, and football. All sports activities have professional trainers to foster skills and safety; the swimming pool is monitored by lifeguards at all times.

Admissions

For the applicant to be eligible for admission into a graduate program, he/she must hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree issued in the UAE or an equivalent degree approved by the Ministry of Education in the UAE

Full Admission

For full Admission To Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching programs, Master's degree programs, and Doctorate degree programs, the applicants are required to upload clear scans of the following required documents:

Academic documents

Official Bachelor's / Master's university transcripts and graduation certificates certified by the appropriate authorities with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, or its equivalent.
An Equivalency Certificate obtained from the UAE Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division for Bachelor’s/Master's degrees from universities outside the UAE.
A valid Certificate of proficiency test in English:

For all (Master /Doctorateprograms) taught in English: (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 1400 or (6.0 IELTS academic or TOEFL (ITP)score of 550) or its equivalent.
For Doctorate of Philosophy in Law (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 1100 in or( 5.0 IELTS academic or TOEFL (ITP)score of 500) or its equivalent.
For the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching program and all master programs taught in Arabic: (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 950 or (4.5 IELTS academic or TOEFL (ITP)score of 450) or its equivalent

General Documents

A valid coloured passport copy with a valid residence
A valid colored UAE national ID copy
A valid certificate of good conduct is issued by the official authorities.
Recent coloured photograph size (3×4)
Status of UAE National Service or exemption of the Military National Service (for UAE Male applicants).
CV and experience certificate if available.
Two recommendation letters.

Scholarships and Funding

Mission

The Office of Scholarship & Financial Aid (OSFA) is committed to supporting the University’s strategic directions in focusing on recruitment, retention, graduation, and employability through efficient delivery of student aid and scholarships. The OSFA assist students in pursuing their educational goals by informing students, parents, and the community about AU scholarships, discounts, and Financial Aid (Thamer Fund) as well as providing counselling about other external financial aids.

General Instructions

Fees for admission, training, housing, transportation, books and student services fees are excluded from these scholarships & discounts
Discounts are applicable only in the Fall & Spring semesters. Summer semester is not included
A scholarship does not cover any failed, prohibited, dropped courses (after the Add & Drop period has finished) within the required credit hours of the study plan.
Students cannot benefit simultaneously from more than one discount. In this case, a higher discount will be applicable.
All AU students must check their financial account and If the discount they are entitled to (as per the rules and regulations) is not listed in their account, they are requested to submit a discount request through the Online Request System and by:
- Mid of October – First semester of each academic year;
- End of February – Second semester of each academic year.
Please, be advised that the stated dates are the deadlines for accepting any application to availof due discounts. Students shall not be entitled to claim any discount after the expiry of the set deadline.
All other university regulations shall apply to all students.
